Did You Know?

The white-tailed deer is one of the most iconic and graceful mammals in North America, known for its agility, alertness, and distinctive tail that flashes white when alarmed. These gentle creatures are highly adaptable, thriving in forests, meadows, thickets, and even wetlands. They’re most active at dawn and dusk and often move with a quiet step, relying on their keen eyesight, sensitive hearing, and sharp sense of smell—enhanced by licking their own nose!

Known for their speed and elegance, white-tailed deer can leap great distances, walk on the tips of their hooves, and run up to 40 miles per hour. Bucks grow antlers covered in velvet each year, shedding them after the rut. Fawns are born with spotted coats, and twin births are common in the spring.

With every piece I create, my goal is not only to inspire and entertain but also to educate—embedding fascinating facts like these directly into my artwork.

For this White-Tailed Deer piece, I carefully selected words like majestic, curious, and graceful, along with phrases such as “licks nose for scent,” “walks on tiptoes,” and “bucks shed antlers yearly.” In total, you’ll find over 60 words and phrases hidden throughout the design, each one reflecting the serene, wild spirit of the white-tailed deer.

Every piece of my art is digitally hand-drawn, one letter at a time, with no word or phrase ever repeated. Depending on the complexity, each artwork takes between 6 and 60 hours to complete.

I truly hope this piece brings you as much joy as I had in creating it!
