Tuxedo Cat - Word Mosaic Art Print

Word Mosaic Art Print by Curtis Epperson

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE ARTWORK

Always dressed for dinner. Frequently talking through it.

A Tuxedo Cat has the remarkable advantage of looking formal while behaving entirely like a cat.

Curtis’s word list understands the contradiction.

Handsome.

Tuxedo Cat.

Tuxie.

Then:

Affectionate. Easygoing. Friendly. Laidback. Love To Cuddle. Outgoing. Playful. Talkative.

There are stranger discoveries too.

Have A Doglike Nature.

Don't Have To Be Black And White.

And according to one piece of history hidden inside:

Worshipped As gods By Ancient Egyptians.

Curtis spent 12 hours drawing 60 different words and phrases into this Tuxedo Cat.

From across the room, it is formalwear.

Up close, the tuxie starts talking.

INSIDE THE ARTWORK

“Talkative” felt right at home in this portrait.

Detail of the original hand-drawn lettering in Tuxedo Cat

Lettering detail from Tuxedo Cat.

The Tuxedo Cat gave me a fun mix.

Handsome. Tuxedo Cat. Tuxie.

Then Affectionate, Easygoing, Friendly, Laidback, Love To Cuddle, Outgoing, Playful and Talkative.

I also had Have A Doglike Nature and Don't Have To Be Black And White.

I used 60 different words and phrases and spent 12 hours drawing them into the finished cat.

I like that the portrait looks dressed up from across the room.

The closer look gets much less formal.
