Did You Know?
The silverback gorilla — the powerful yet peaceful leader of the forest — is one of the most intelligent, social, and emotionally complex mammals on Earth. Native to the lush jungles and mountain forests of Central Africa, silverbacks spend their days guiding and protecting their family groups, known as troops. Despite their massive size and mighty strength, these remarkable animals are gentle unless threatened, communicating through gestures, vocal calls, and the iconic chest-beat that echoes through the trees.
With every piece I create, my goal is not only to inspire and entertain but also to educate — embedding fascinating facts like these directly into my artwork.
For this Silverback Gorilla piece, I carefully selected words like majestic, dignified, and unshakable, along with phrases such as “Lives in Family Groups,” “Builds Leaf Nest Daily,” and “Eats Leaves and Fruit.” In total, you’ll find over 70 words and phrases hidden throughout the design, each one honoring the gorilla’s courage, loyalty, and profound presence in the natural world.
Every piece of my art is digitally hand-drawn, one letter at a time, with no word or phrase ever repeated. Depending on the complexity, each artwork takes between 6 and 60 hours to complete.
I hope this piece captures the quiet strength and noble heart of this incredible species — wise, powerful, and truly one of nature’s greatest guardians.
