Did You Know?
The American Bison, often nicknamed the “buffalo,” is one of the most iconic and enduring symbols of North America. Once roaming the plains in numbers that stretched beyond the horizon, these ancient wanderers shaped entire ecosystems with their grazing, movement, and presence. Known for their massive size, woolly coats, and the gentle sway of their steady, earth-shaking footsteps, bison are both rugged survivors and peaceful giants of the prairie. Today, they stand as a powerful reminder of resilience and conservation — a species brought back from the brink and honored as the National Mammal of the United States.
With every piece I create, my goal is not only to inspire and entertain but also to educate — embedding fascinating facts like these directly into my artwork.
For this American Bison piece, I carefully selected words like majestic, resilient, and unbreakable, along with phrases such as “Thundering Footsteps” and “Native to North America.” In total, you’ll find over 80 words and phrases hidden throughout the design, each one celebrating the bison’s dignity, strength, and timeless connection to the wilderness it calls home.
Every piece of my art is digitally hand-drawn, one letter at a time, with no word or phrase ever repeated. Depending on the complexity, each artwork takes between 6 and 60 hours to complete.
I hope this piece brings you a sense of calm, courage, and connection to the wide-open spaces of the American plains — wild, enduring, and forever free.
