Did You Know?
Often called the “sea cow” or even affectionately nicknamed the “sea potato,” the manatee is one of the ocean’s most gentle and endearing creatures. Though they may look a bit blubbery and round, they are incredibly graceful underwater, gliding slowly through warm, shallow waters with a calm, peaceful presence. Manatees are herbivores, breath air, and can live over sixty years, making them both adorable and ancient members of the marine world.
With every piece I create, my goal is not only to inspire and entertain but also to educate—embedding fascinating facts like these directly into my artwork.
For this Manatee piece, I carefully selected words and phrases like “coastal cruiser,” “cousin of the elephant,” “chirps and squeaks,” and “no natural predators.” In total, you’ll find over 35 words and phrases hidden throughout the design, each one capturing the lovable spirit of this aquatic angel.
Every piece of my art is digitally hand-drawn, one letter at a time, with no word or phrase ever repeated. Depending on the complexity, each artwork takes between 6 and 60 hours to complete.
I truly hope this piece brings you as much joy as I had in creating it!
