There are over 20,000 known species of bees, but the honey bee is one of the most important pollinators in the world! These yellow and black insects live in highly organized colonies inside a hive, where workers, drones, and a queen each play a crucial role. Honey bees are busy creatures, tirelessly collecting nectar and pollen to sustain their hive.
With every piece I create, my goal is not only to inspire and entertain but also to educate—embedding fascinating facts like these directly into my artwork.
For this Honey Bee piece, I carefully selected words like beeswax, buzz, and stinger, along with phrases such as “communicate by dancing,” “honeycomb is hexagonal,” and “queens only eat royal jelly.” In total, you’ll find over 25 words and phrases hidden within the design, each one celebrating the incredible life and work of the honey bee.
Every piece of my art is digitally hand-drawn, one letter at a time, with no word or phrase ever repeated. Depending on the complexity, each artwork takes between 6 and 60 hours to complete.
