I wanted the words to show both sides of this horse.

When I put together the word list for the Quarter Horse, I noticed something I really liked.

Some of the words were about what the horse can do.

Barrel Racing. Cutting. Rodeo. Show Jumping. Ranch Horse.

Others were about what the horse becomes to a person.

Loyal. Trustworthy. Devoted. Great Friend.

I used 118 different words and phrases and spent 23 hours drawing them into the horse.

That combination became the heart of the piece for me.

A Quarter Horse can be an athlete, a working partner and a friend, sometimes all in the same day.
