Did You Know?
The first two Akita dogs to arrive in the United States were gifted to Helen Keller, making her one of the earliest Akita owners in America. In Japan, these loyal and noble dogs are so revered that nearly every child receives a statue of an Akita as a symbol of protection, health, and happiness.
With every piece I create, my goal is not only to inspire and entertain but also to educate—embedding fascinating facts like these directly into my artwork.
For this Akita piece, I carefully selected words like affectionate, dignified, and courageous, along with phrases such as “great companions,” “instinctive guardians,” and “snow country dogs.” In total, you’ll find over 50 words and phrases hidden within the design, each one celebrating the strength and loyalty of this remarkable breed.
Every piece of my art is digitally hand-drawn, one letter at a time, with no word or phrase ever repeated. Depending on the complexity, each artwork takes between 6 and 60 hours to complete.
I truly hope this piece brings you as much joy as I had in creating it!
